We’re Making the Exchange More Secure – Here's Why
As part of our ongoing commitment to optimising security on the Exchange, we’re implementing a unique email verification process.
Why we’re introducing this
Very soon, all users will be asked to verify a unique email address associated with their Exchange account.
We want to protect our members from cybercrime and the only way we can do that is by ensuring that each user on the platform is using a verified email address when logging in to the platform.
The benefits of having a unique, verified email address
✔ It ensures that the email address you’ve provided us with is valid and has no typos. This is crucial to receive any important communications from us.
✔ It enhances the safety of your account since it will be verified and linked to your specific email address which can only be used by you.
✔ As you use your email address to log in, you don't need to remember different usernames for different tools like web or mobile apps.
How this affects different account types
- If you’re the admin of a company account, after logging in you’ll be asked to verify the unique emails of all the users registered on that account. This will be done by initiating an automatic email going to each user with instructions on how to complete verification.
Please note:
If your company uses a generic email address, for example, admin@xyz.com, please decide which user will be taking that email address, as only one user can be assigned during the verification process.
If you have users on your account that share an email address on the Exchange, they will need to use their own email addresses in future.
- If you’re the only user on an account, i.e. you’re an owner-operator, you will only need to verify one unique email address – yours. When logging in after this new verification request goes live, you’ll be given easy steps to follow to verify your unique email address.
