What's a legal Account Owner?
The legal Account Owner is the Director (or named Sole Trader) who is responsible for the administration of their Ltd Company or business's Trustd and Exchange Accounts. The legal Account Owner is the only role that can edit key account information, including bank details. This information is managed through Trustd.

We’ve introduced the legal Account Owner role to enhance the overall security and integrity of the platform by ensuring only one person has the authority to view and edit sensitive information.
I’ve been assigned the legal Account Owner role. Do I need to do anything?
When you next log in, you’ll see a pop-up asking you to review and verify your company’s users and their assigned roles. If any of the user roles are incorrect, please change them accordingly.
How do I change a user's role?
You can change a user's role in two ways.
1. In the pop-up above asking you to review and verify your company users when you first log in to the Exchange as a legal Account Owner. We recommend you do this as soon as possible.
2. In Settings > Users/Drivers on the Exchange

Click on the user role you want to change:
This drop-down menu will appear where you can change the user's role accordingly:

Then you can edit the user's details, including their user role:
How do I change or input a user's email?
To change or input a user's email click the Settings icon > Users/Drivers:

You can then input or change the user's email. They'll then receive an email asking them to verify their user role:
What responsibilities does a legal Account Owner have?
The legal Account Owner has the authority to view and edit:
- All user roles (alongside Company Admins)
- Company Trustd profile
- Company profile
- Bank details stored in Trustd
- Business documents stored in Trustd
Who's assigned the legal Account Owner role?
The legal Account Owner role is automatically assigned to the person who has completed the Trustd application for their company.
How can I change the legal Account Owner of my company?
If your company needs to change its legal Account Owner, please submit a support request so we can help assign a new legal Account Owner to your company’s account.
What happens if the legal Account Owner leaves the company?
If the legal Account Owner leaves the company, please submit a support request so we can help assign a new legal Account Owner to your company’s account.
There's no legal Account Owner associated with my company. Why's that?
If your company has no legal Account Owner showing, this is because your company has not completed a Trustd application yet. If this is the case please submit a support request for a link to start your Trustd application.
