Why have grace periods been removed from insurance and other documents?
We previously offered a 14-day grace period on expiring documents — for example, if your insurance expired on 1 January, it would remain valid on the platform until 15 January.
We have now removed grace periods across all document types. This change has been driven by tightening government legislation around working with uninsured drivers, and our obligation to protect everyone on the platform from the financial and reputational risks that come with it.
We understand this may be frustrating, particularly for those who have relied on grace periods in the past. However, this change means you can have confidence that every driver you work with through the platform holds valid, current insurance — no exceptions.
What do I need to do? Simply make sure your documents are renewed and uploaded before they expire. You will continue to receive reminders ahead of any expiry date to help you stay on top of this.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with our support team.
Please note:
Restricted members cannot post or view jobs on the Exchange until updated documents are provided.
Type of documents
The grace period starts from the moment your document is expired. Note there is no grace period for MOT. Access will be restricted immediately when your MOT expires. The number of days given during the grace period depends on the document type.
How do I know if my profile is compliant or non-compliant?
The colour of your Trustd logo indicates your compliance status.
Green = your profile is compliant
Red = your profile is non-compliant
Will I be informed when my profile is non-compliant?
Yes, to ensure our members are well informed about their non-compliance status, you will be automatically notified during each stage of the grace period process by banners, pop-ups and email reminders. Multiple notifications will then be sent to owner drivers, and registered account owners, company administrators and company users.
