Members operating heavy goods vehicles over 12 tonnes gross vehicle weight (HGVs), need to have the following permits: Direct Vision Standard and HGV Safety. Failure to have these before entering and operating in most of Greater London could result in a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
If you're found to be operating an HGV in most of Greater London without these permits, the PCN is up to £550, which can be reduced to £275 if paid within 14 days.
DVS exists to reduce the risk of vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists near HGVs.
