From 25 October 2021, the existing central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding to the North (A406) and South (A205) Circular Roads. We advise all members to be aware of the expansion and start planning to avoid unwanted charges and potential fines.
ULEZ currently operates in central London, in the same area as the Congestion Charge zone. ULEZ operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year except Christmas Day. Failure to pay ULEZ charges can result in substantial penalty charge notices (PCN).
What are the ULEZ charges?
Vehicles need to meet the different emission ULEZ standards based on their vehicle type and the type of emission.
Cars, motorcycles, vans and other specialist vehicles (up to and including 3.5 tonnes), and minibuses (up to and including 5 tonnes) will either need to meet the ULEZ emissions standards or pay a £12.50 daily charge (£100 charge for heavier vehicles, including lorries over 3.5 tonnes) when driving within the expanded ULEZ zone.
To find out how HGVs, heavy vans and specialist heavy vehicles (over 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight) are affected by ULEZ and LEZ emissions standards, please visit the following link:
