We pride ourselves in making the Exchange a safe trading platform for our community to find new business opportunities and grow their professional network. The objective of this policy is to ensure members on the Exchange do not commit an act of gross misconduct as described, but not limited to, in the scenarios below.
Intoxication
Providing services, including operating a vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Intoxication will be considered as being unfit to operate a vehicle, or to provide services, safely due to the consumption of alcohol, illegal substances, or prescription medication that impairs driving ability.
Incidents of operating a vehicle while intoxicated may also be reported to the relevant authorities.
Holding Goods for Ransom
The practice of an Exchange refusing to deliver a load to a load recipient until certain demands are met is prohibited. If a job has been accepted, the load must be delivered, or returned, and must not be withheld under any circumstances.
Any disputes regarding payment, additional charges, or issues with previous deliveries must be resolved only after the load have been delivered or returned.
Engaging in this behaviour will result in immediate suspension or revocation of membership, and may also lead to further legal action.
Theft or tampering of goods
Theft, tampering of goods, withholding goods for ransom or suspected foul play during the transportation of an Exchange-allocated load should be reported to our support team immediately via support@transportexchangegroup.com.
Reports should include details such as times, dates, locations, incident descriptions and any relevant information about potential witnesses or suspects. We strongly suggest you also report such incidents to the police.
Any member suspected of breaching this section of the policy must fully co-operate with TEG. Failure to do so may result in your account being restricted or suspension/revocation of your account.
We’ll take swift action against members if evidence is found of theft, tampering of goods, holding goods for ransom or suspected foul play during the transportation of an Exchange-allocated load. When incidents relate to sole traders, we’ll revoke offending members’ memberships. When incidents relate to companies, we’ll ask companies to ban offending individuals from our platform. Whenever companies fail to comply, we’ll revoke offending company memberships.
Following revocations, refunds of remaining subscription periods will not be issued, and those who suffer revocations will be unable to re-join our platform.
Abuse towards members, customers, the general public or Exchange staff
Minor usage of terms that may be associated with blasphemy or profanity will not amount to verbal. However, usage of terms or behaviour that is intended, or could be perceived, to be a personal attack on a person that can affect their sense of peace and psychological wellbeing, will be considered to be abuse (including written and oral).
Here are some examples of abuse:
1) Gaslighting (Psychological manipulation)
In this instance, the abuser is trying to control the victim’s sense of reality by manipulating them to doubt their own sanity. They may be trying to convince the victim that certain events or incidents did not occur or trying to sway facts to their own advantage.
Gaslighting is dangerous because the victim may give in to this type of psychological manipulation and accept the abuser’s version of events without being aware.
2) Threats, harassment, bullying and intimidation
If an Exchange member
- threatens a person with physical violence, public humiliation, or even threatens to hurt themselves and hold that person accountable;
- intimidates, insults, degrades/belittles or harasses members, customers, the general public or Exchange staff; or
- makes discriminatory remarks;
- this will be considered a breach of this policy.
Threatening to defame or take action to discredit another member or our Exchange:
Actions could include but are not limited to:
- Threatening or knowingly publishing or mentioning fabricated or false loads to the Exchange with the intent of non-payment or to bring discredit to the Exchange and our reputation;
- Threatening or actively making false claims on social media platforms;
- Deliberately submitting false complaints against a member; and
- Contact with intent to intimidate or harass (phone, email, or otherwise).
How we enforce this policy:
Any incidents of gross misconduct are intolerable and may warrant immediate suspension or membership revocation upon presenting us with evidence.
If you have been a victim of misconduct, please report the incident to support@transportexchangegroup.com with evidence, which may include screenshots/emails/images/calls or video recordings
