All load transportations on the Exchange must adhere to our rules and regulations. Certain loads are prohibited due to insurance requirements or because they are inappropriate and not in line with our platform's professional function.
We encourage all members to raise a support ticket if they come across any of the following prohibited loads on the Exchange:
- Carriage of a person/persons, passengers
- Carriage of animals
- Shopping lists and food orders
- Errands
- Advertising for vacancies
Carriage of a person/persons, passengers
The carriage of a person or persons (including accompanying a load) is not allowed on the Exchange. The carriage of passengers is not covered by most courier/haulage insurance policies, with most of them specifically stating it is omitted and consequently considered unacceptable on our platform.
Carriage of Animals
The transportation of animals is not permitted on the Exchange and isn’t covered in most standard courier/haulage insurance policies. Farmers, transporters and attendants using road vehicles for transporting farm animals in connection with economic activity must have received appropriate training and hold a certificate of competence issued by an independent body nominated by the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs.
More guidance on the transportation of animals can be found on GOV.UK.
Shopping lists and food orders
Loads which could be seen as shopping lists or food orders are unacceptable on the platform. Use your good judgement to determine whether the load can be seen as a food or shopping list. These loads are most likely explicit, for example, a bottle of water, crisps and a doughnut’ or a ‘large Big Mac meal’. These requests are for alternative service providers who specifically accommodate them and are not permitted on the Exchange.
Errands
Any loads relating to running errands, taking or collecting items on behalf of someone else are not permitted on the Exchange. Requests for visiting a location to help carry items up the stairs or refuelling vehicles or disposing of waste on behalf of someone else. These requests are unprofessional and shouldn’t be posted on our platform.
Advertising for vacancies
Advertising for driver vacancies is prohibited on the Exchange; any requests for drivers or job postings should be reported and consequently removed. The Exchange is not a recruitment platform, and any requests relating to vacancies are unprofessional and a hindrance to the smooth running of our platform.
If a ticket is raised notifying us that a member has posted any of the above examples of prohibited loads, we will investigate accordingly.
Transportation of illegal goods
We have a zero-tolerance policy for goods that have been imported or exported illegally on the Exchange. If a member is found to be using our platform to move contraband in any form (drugs, counterfeit items, or stolen items), we will take immediate action to remove them from our services permanently.
To ensure the ongoing safety of the Exchange, we will work with the appropriate law authorities to assist with any investigations.
If a ticket is raised, we will investigate each offence directly with the member involved.
Overloaded vehicles
We encourage all members to be aware of their weight limits when posting and completing loads. We understand errors occur, but it is your responsibility to ensure you are posting and driving loads within your legal limits. If we learn that a member has intentionally posted a load above its legal weight for the requested vehicle's size, we will take action.
We will conduct all investigations on a case-by-case basis. For more information on vehicle weights, please click here.
Transport Exchange Group will investigate each ticket raised directly with the member involved. We reserve the right to issue warnings, implement suspensions and revoke accounts for repeated breaches of this policy.
